Commemorating 9/11

In our archives is a sword gifted to the college by the parents of Shadi Awwad, a Jordanian student. Awwad was a face of reason and understanding following the attacks on September 11, a time of hostility towards Muslims. As we commemorate the 20th anniversary of 9/11, we reflect on the impact students like Awwad play on campus, honor their views on world events, and appreciate how they help others see a different perspective.
