Library Survey Results

Ramaker Library, as part of its assessment efforts, has conducted two surveys. In 2008, we survyed the juniors and seniors about their use of the library and its resources. In 2009, we surveyed Northwestern faculty members.

We are sharing the results of these survey here on our web site. For each survey, we also created a progress report, which is essentially a task list for the library. It contains the suggestions from survey respondents and how we are addressing them at Ramaker Library.

If you have any questions about these surveys, please contact Tim Schlak, Library Director.

2008 Student Survey

In November 2008, Ramaker Library conducted a survey of juniors and seniors. Our intention was to find out how students use the library; how students feel about the library, its staff and its resources; and how students feel the library can best meet their needs. We also endeavored to discover why some students choose not to use the library very often.

2009 Faculty Survey

In October 2009, Ramaker Library conducted a survey of all faculty. With this survey, we wanted to learn how the library was supporting faculty's research and instruction. We also wanted to know about which services and collections faculty used.
